Senior Corporate Actuarial Analyst from a Reinsurer (Singapore)
The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Actuarial, this role will be involved in various reporting duties including:
- Responsible for Business Plan modelling, which involves working with other departments and Division Centre, performing VNB, earnings and capital projections across various regulatory bases to reflect our latest strategies, providing quality analysis and presenting the plan to the management team.
- Support the regular VNB reporting and analysis
- Support IFRS 17 implementation and reporting
- Support valuation and capital reporting
- Maintain and enhance models and processes to improve efficiencies
Duties:
- Responsible for the business plan process. This requires a good understanding of our product offerings and being able to model the cashflows and capital items under a variety of different standards, including US GAAP, EC, BMA, MAS and K-ICS. It will involve working closely with departments including Pricing, Finance, Business Development and our Division Centre, performing VNB, earnings and capital projections across various regulatory bases to reflect our latest strategies, providing quality analysis and presenting the plan to the management team.
- Support the production of VNB for all new business for internal reporting purposes.
- Support the implementation and production of regulatory requirements for Korea, Singapore and in future China, including IFRS17, and will involve updating data, assumptions and models, checking and analysing the output.
- Support other responsibilities in Corporate Actuarial, and also other local and divisional projects as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in life insurance or life reinsurance
- Nearly qualified or qualified actuary (IFOA, SOA, IOAA)
- Good understanding of actuarial valuation principles and processes
- Knowledge of IFRS 17 is an advantage
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
- Continual improvement mindset
- Proficient in one actuarial software
